Rejuvenation

During the Spring 2023 semester at GSU (January-April), I was lucky enough to be part of a feature film project affiliated with the university. Rejuvenation, created and produced by Tom Luse (executive producer of The Walking Dead), is a full-length feature and student-driven film with guidance by executive producer Luse and producers Susan G. Reid (She Kills Monsters) and Heath Franklin (Black Balsam, Wicked Games). The cast was also joined by veteran actors Mary Emily Deal (Atlanta, P-Valley), Jerri Tubbs (Stranger Things, The Walking Dead), Lorraine Rodriguez-Reyes (Good Girls, Legacies), and Anastasia Wilson (Creed III, Lovecraft Country) performing in principal and featured roles.

I was cast in the role of "Anna" after a nearly year-long audition process that began with pre-screen auditions then continued with self-tapes, callbacks, and a rigorous semester-long pre-production course. This course was an opportunity to deep-dive into Rejuvenation's script and really get to know the characters before the accelerated shooting schedule the next semester. Anna is a very fun character who allowed me to step outside of my comfort zone in several places.

Rejuvenation had a private premiere for cast and crew at the Plaza Theatre in August 2023 with much success. We also had a public premiere at the Rialto Center for the Arts in October 2023 for a large audience including professionals in the film industry. The premiere at the Rialto was followed by a panel featuring a handful of cast and crew members alongside the producers and writers of Rejuvenation. I was honored to be asked to sit on the panel and answer questions about my character and the process of creating Rejuvenation.
